Educational Toolkits
The Company
Splitz Support Services is dedicated to providing support to lone parents, teen mothers, and individuals affected by domestic abuse, including victims, survivors, perpetrators, and children who have witnessed harmful behaviors. As a service user-led provider, we prioritize the voices and needs of those we serve, ensuring that our services are relevant, effective, and compassionate.
The Project
TALK is an innovative educational toolkit created with input from young people to tackle the critical issue of domestic violence and abuse. Supported by the Ministry of Justice, the project was delivered in two phases: one focused on secondary-aged students (14–16 years old) and another tailored for primary school-aged children. Both phases aim to promote awareness and understanding of healthy relationships and self-esteem.
The Result
The toolkit consists of worksheets and activities designed for both students and teachers to complete, helping to increase awareness and understanding of these important issues.
As the designer, I was tasked with creating a brand identity and logo that resonates with each age group while addressing sensitive topics with care and clarity.
Fonts and graphics were carefully tweaked to reflect the specific target age range, ensuring the content was relatable and engaging for teenagers while maintaining an age-appropriate tone for younger children.
The final brand identity promotes inclusivity and open dialogue, providing a safe foundation for fostering discussions that contribute to preventing domestic violence and abuse.
The resources were well received by professionals working with young people in the care and education system and were rolled out across many school settings in the Devon region, helping to facilitate meaningful conversations on these important issues.
