The Company
Since 2010, twool has championed sustainability, social value, and British heritage manufacturing, creating a thoughtful and eco-conscious range of products. They leverage the wool from local Whiteface Dartmoor sheep, ensuring traceable origins and direct support for British farming communities. With all manufacturing processes based in Britain, the company embodies a commitment to preserving British heritage while making a positive environmental impact.
Their commitment to innovation and eco-conscious design has been recognised, with twool winning Chelsea Product of the Year multiple times.
The Project
I collaborated with twool from the very start of their business, creating a brand identity that has since been applied to all aspects of the company, including product packaging, marketing materials, and digital platforms. Key elements of the project included:
Logo Design: The logotype was inspired by the Whiteface Dartmoor sheep, incorporating a friendly, relaxed typeface to keep the branding fun and approachable, perfectly reflecting the company’s ethos.
Branding: A cohesive visual identity that celebrates sustainability, British heritage, and craftsmanship, ensuring consistency across all applications.
Packaging Design: Eco-friendly and visually appealing, the packaging highlighted traceability and the sustainable manufacturing process.
Marketing Collateral: Brochures, social media templates, and point-of-sale materials were designed to promote the products and educate customers about their environmental impact.
The Result
POS and packaging can be seen in National Trust gift shops, B&Q Garden Centres, Blue Diamond Garden Centres, Waitrose, and Selfridges. Exhibition stand displays are featured annually at Crufts and the Chelsea Flower Show, and the brand has received the Chelsea Sustainable Product of the Year award since 2015.
The branding has become integral to Twool's identity, successfully conveying its core values and appealing to environmentally conscious consumers. The designs were crafted to celebrate the natural beauty of the products and the heritage of British wool, while aligning with sustainability principles. The friendly tone of the branding reflects Twool’s commitment to accessibility, sustainability, and positive social change, fostering a connection with customers who value both quality and environmental responsibility. This cohesive visual identity, showcased in high-profile locations and events, has positioned Twool as a trusted and forward-thinking brand within the marketplace.
