Smiles for Miles Campaign
The Company
Families for Children are  a specialist adoption agency covering the South West region exists to find adoptive families and, more broadly, to support children and families to live safer lives.
In 2002 Families for Children became a separate registered charity and has grown into the largest voluntary adoption agency in the South West.
The Project
I worked with Families for Children to design the “Miles for Smiles - Every Step for Adoption” campaign. The campaign aimed to encourage families to get active during the summer while raising vital funds to support adopted children, many of whom have experienced developmental trauma and neglect in their early years.
My role was to create visual assets that would not only attract attention but also raise awareness about the 4,500 children currently waiting in care in the UK. 
The Results
The campaign materials highlighted the life-changing work the organisation does and emphasised the need to recruit more adopters.
The design was focused on being family-friendly and engaging, using vibrant imagery and clear messaging to inspire participation while conveying the importance of adoption support.
The fonts chosen for the campaign were selected to evoke a friendly, fun, and family-oriented feel, ensuring that the materials resonated with a broad audience. The color palette was carefully aligned with brand guidelines, maintaining consistency with Families for Children’s established visual identity while enhancing the overall appeal of the campaign.
Through this project, I helped Families for Children strengthen their visibility and generate the funding needed to continue their essential work, all while fostering a sense of community and engagement around the cause.
